Volunteer Hosting @ Rockweed
The Rockweed Center is seeking hosts willing to take shifts during drop-in hours to keep the space running.
Hosting involves unlocking/looking up the door, greeting new people as they come in the door, answering questions, offering guidelines if needed and making sure the space is running smoothly.
Some hosts sign up for a weekly MORNING SHIFT from 10-1:30 or an AFTERNOON SHIFT from 1:30-5pm. Also, you can be on our sub list, or take a less frequent shift ( i.e. 1x month), or offer specific dates you are able to host.
We offer ongoing 1 hour host volunteer trainings. We ask you to attend a training that fits in your schedule so we can get you oriented.
WHY HOST?
We are right downtown, we have wifi, a snack and beverage station, a community library, plants, lots of seating options (comfy couch and chairs and a few different desks and tables) and it’s warm and sunny! You can read your book, get some work done, meet up with friends while you are here, get to know new people, knit, draw, stare of the window, drink tea, pay bills, clear out your inbox…whatever you want.
