Imbolc is the cross-quarter day between winter solstice and spring equinox. “Imbolc” is a Gaelic term that means “in the belly” and is thought to refer to the time of the year when the sheep were pregnant with their lambs. Imbolc is also the celebration of Brigid, the pagan goddess of poetry, wisdom, healing and smithing. In this circle we will gather to honor our winter process, the return of the light and the quiet stirring of the seeds as they begin to wake from their winter’s sleep. We will also explore what seeds within us are ready to stir.
We will discuss the many incredible gifts of the herb Rosemary, who offers us warmth and stimulation as well as support for digestion and the liver, memory, immunity, hair growth and so much more.
Held in a gentle and loving container, we will also call on the spirit of Rosemary to help us awaken to the ancestral memories we all carry that inform how we walk in the world. We will honor our ancestors, and touch on settler colonialism, whiteness and the work of repair that is needed so that we can be in true connection with the land and each other, and in service to healing and return to wholeness of all beings on Earth.
